On October 13 in Shanghai, Geespace and Kazakhstan-based SATLAS signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance the deployment of the GEESATCOM satellite IoT constellation across Kazakhstan and Central Asia. Under the agreement, SATLAS becomes Geespace’s key strategic partner in the region, supporting regulatory approvals, frequency coordination, and the potential establishment of a local satellite ground gateway.
Headquartered in Almaty, SATLAS provides satellite communication, Earth observation, and geospatial analytics services to sectors such as energy, maritime, and agriculture. The partnership aims to accelerate regional digital transformation by delivering affordable and reliable satellite IoT connectivity.
This collaboration marks GEESATCOM’s official entry into Central Asia and strengthens space communication ties along the Belt and Road, contributing to a global integrated space–ground communication ecosystem.
